Qualification Products

Dr. Richard Hartwick has been leading and advising our manufacturing, quality, and product development teams for the Chemical Solutions Qualification kits and accessories since 2004. He currently supports our Technical Team by educating customers who wish to insource the Performance Qualification of their HPLC instruments. Additionally, he oversees and consults with our manufacturing team to ensure the consistency and quality of our Performance Qualification kits.

Dr. Hartwick earned his B.A. in Chemistry from Barrington College in Rhode Island in 1973, followed by a Master's degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Rhode Island in 1975. He completed his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry under the guidance of Professor Phyllis R. Brown at the University of Rhode Island in 1978. He then became a NATO/NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at Edinburgh University, working with Professor John Knox from 1979 to 1980.

In 1980, Dr. Hartwick joined Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, becoming an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry in 1985. He moved to Binghamton University, part of the SUNY system, in 1990, where he served as a Professor of Analytical Chemistry. In 1995, Dr. Hartwick co-founded PharmAssist Analytical Laboratories, a GMP, CRO, where he developed the Qualification Kits now commercially available as the Chemical Solutions brand, manufactured by MicroSolv.

Dr. Hartwick has published approximately 100 papers in various areas of analytical chemistry, including chromatographic theory and practice, capillary electrophoresis, and quantitative structure-activity relationships for drug research. He also holds one patent, US Patent No. 4,191,649.
