"Starter" columns for RP| non-polar analytes | For complex mixtures | Wide Pore Available

This phase is virtually indestructible due to the direct silicon-carbon bonds achieved when using our proprietary silica and bonding technologies. State of the art 4um or 2.2um high purity silica with a straight chain C8 hydrocarbon is bonded directly to the silica hydride surface with TWO (2) separate points of attachment for long column lifetimes even when using harsh HPLC conditions.

Moderately hydrophobic but more than all other C8 columns, this column makes this a good choice to start with when scouting for compounds of unknown polarity. Useful in Normal Phase (NP), Reversed Phase (RP) and Aqueous Normal Phase (ANP). Also there is no need for end-capping due the nature of the silica hydride surface that has virtually no silanols.

Also made with TYPE-C™ silica, the Cogent C8 300™ has a C8 chain bonded directly to our 5um, 300A, TYPE-C™ silica with a silicon-carbon bond. Since there are direct bonds attaching the ligand, it does not hydrolyze in acidic conditions like standard columns. Extremely low pH is possible with this wide pore column.
