This Cogent Ultra Axis C18™ Stationary Phase has been a premium value and used by HPLC laboratories for many years. It is double end capped (fully), with traditional bonding of an 18 carbon silane to the highest purity silica with an 80A pore size. Chosen as an Alternate Column in many USP Methods that use the L1 Classification and requires 80A pore size.
With a 5 µm Particle, this column will provide longer retention and somewhat different Selectivity from an Axis C18 Column due to the increased surface area. Efficiency is also increased but higher back pressures can be expected as well. Used for hydrophobic or neutral compounds in Reversed Phase, this Octadecyl, high surface area Phase is excellent for long chain fatty acids.
