RSA-Pro X™ vial kits with extreme hydrolytic stability | Better than silanized vials!
Many factors affect adsorption of samples to borosilicate glass due to its many surface hydroxyl groups (silanols). In the presence of water silanols will bind (adsorb) basic compounds (bases) such as most pharmaceuticals, foods and many other common analytes.
Factors also affecting non-basic, compound adsorption is the glass structure itself including the siloxane bridges. Between the silanols and siloxanes are some naturally inherent metals (aluminum and boron) which create a very hydrophilic surface that will adsorb most proteins, peptides, enzymes, natural products and many other types of compounds.
The RSA-Pro X™ surface treatment is a breakthrough technology that starts with RSA™ glass. It provides complete surface coverage that is hydrolytically stable for years; even in 100% water. This hydrophobic surface will not adsorb most compounds and is often chosen for storage, stability testing, shipping, standards, dissolution and QC testing and brings an improved chemical resistance.
*Reduced Surface Activity Vials (RSA™) have the most pristine, surface chemistry in the industry and are successfully used in laboratories for many years through-out the world to eliminate analyte loss. RSA-Pro X™ inserts are only sold in the U-2D™ Micro-Sample Management System kits or racks.
